新世界与市建局合作抗疫 增设多部自助提取机 免费供口罩助3,000基层家庭解困

面对第五波疫情严峻，基层市民面对长期添置口罩及其他防疫物资的经济压力，令生活百上加斤。新世界发展本著「创造共享价值」的企业精神，宣佈与市区重建局（市建局）合作，於五个闹市地点设置多部「自助口罩提取机」，并透过与3间非牟利合作机构，令受助者每周能方便简易地免费提取口罩，计划预计将有3,000个基层家庭受惠。
受惠对象範围广泛涵盖不同群组
早於2020年疫情爆发初期，新世界发展已与本地多间非牟利机构联手，於全港十八区设立全港首创的「自助口罩提取机」，供有需要的基层家庭每周免费拍卡取罩，从而获得稳定的口罩供应。面对严峻的第五波疫情，新世界发展与市建局携手，与三间非牟利机构合作在多个地方设置「自助口罩提取计划」，合作机构包括香港基督教服务处、儿童心脏基金会及社区药物教育辅导会，他们的服务对象分别涵盖低收入家庭、长期病患者、基层学童、少数族裔及戒毒复康家庭等。
上述三间机构将会派发「口罩提取卡」予基层或弱势社群，持卡人可於市建局旗下五个指定物业，包括中环H6 CONET及H18 CONET¹、观塘裕民坊YM²、湾仔茂萝街7号（M7）及旺角618上海街，透过设於该处的口罩提取机，每星期提取一包（共五片）由新世界集团生产的成人或儿童口罩，为期约三个月。
儿童心脏基金会主席周启东医生表示︰「基於先天缺陷，先天性心脏病患者的身体较一般人虚弱，令其面对更大的疫情威胁，受感染後亦相对容易出现严重病况。本会非常感激新世界发展，透过『自助口罩提取计划』向本会会员捐赠外科口罩，提供实质的防疫支援，为患者的健康带来更佳保障。」
另一非牟利机构香港基督教服务处企业拓展及研究部经理唐懿丽指︰「感谢新世界集团及市建局透过这项计划，让有需要的服务对象能定时免费提取口罩，应付疫情带来的额外开支，助他们纾缓生活压力，在疫情下缔造希望。」
社区药物教育辅导会总幹事黄子玮亦表示︰「今次透过与不同背景的机构合作，可惠及社会上较少受到关注的社群，包括少数族裔及戒毒复康家庭，令社区得到更大更阔的保障。」
多管齐下支援社区对抗疫情
新世界集团一直致力协助社区抗疫。自第五波疫情爆发以来，集团先後推出多项有关措施，当中包括於3月中推出全港首个大型捐赠配对平台「Share f Good爱互送」，夥拍34间非牟利机构，透过平台连系善心捐赠者与社会上有需要的人士，有心人可直接捐赠物资或捐款由仁济医院代购，精準高效地把物资送到有基层人士手上。集团於今年二月又无偿借出粉岭一幅3.5公顷土地予政府兴建方舱医院并提供紧急物资，以及借出沙田凯悦酒店供前线医护免费入住。集团亦无偿提供会展中心二期总面积超过50万平方呎的空间，作为政府抗疫仓储物流中心之用。
除此之外，集团早前也向基层市民免费派发30万套快速抗原测试包及逾2,000万个口罩，并向医护人员、清洁工、安老院舍职员及确诊者等捐赠保护衣物和血氧计等抗疫物资。集团亦与多个非牟利团体合作，捐赠逾万张数据卡予基层学童和独居长者。至於旗下的新创建集团、富通保险及港怡医院亦分别推出多项措施，协助社区抗疫。
集团会继续留意疫情发展并作出相应安排，适切地回应社会的需要，与各界并肩合作，齐心战胜疫情。
